The Story
Crisis Core is the prequel to Final Fantasy VII — Zack Fair's story, the SOLDIER program, and everything that happened before Cloud arrived in Midgar. Square Enix built it for PSP in 2007 and it was one of the rare handheld games that felt like a mainline entry. The story ends exactly where FFVII begins, and if you've never played it, the opening of FFVII hits differently after you do. The 2022 Reunion remaster brought full 3D visuals and voice acting — and runs on Velocity via GPTK4.
