The Story
Nobody expected the sequel to Galaxian to be better than the original, but Galaga's dive-bombing formations, dual-ship capture mechanic, and bonus challenge stages turned it into one of the most-played arcade games of all time. Competitive players discovered early that letting the stage-one boss drone capture your ship — intentionally sacrificing a life — allows you to rescue it and play with two ships simultaneously.
