The Story

Before Halo was an Xbox game — before Microsoft even owned Bungie — Steve Jobs walked onto the Macworld stage in July 1999 and introduced it as the future of Mac gaming. The crowd erupted. It was a third-person action game then, with a ring world, alien enemies, and Bungie's signature feel. A year later Microsoft acquired Bungie, cancelled the Mac version, and repurposed Halo as the Xbox launch title. When Bungie finally shipped the Mac port in 2003, it was a footnote. The Xbox version had already changed console gaming forever. Velocity runs it through GPTK4 — the way it was always meant to run on Apple hardware.
